The picture of Anand Dige with Balasaheb Thackeray was published in Lokmat’s website along with the news.
This photo was published on the website of BBC Marathi on 21 January 2019 along with the news of Anand Dige
- Anand was the tallest leader of Dige’s Shiv Sena and Balasaheb was very close to Thackeray. Recently, a film on Dige’s death has also come out in Marathi called Dharamveer.
- Dige died in an accident on 26 August 2001. His death is still considered by many to be murder.
- It is clear that the claim being made on social media with the viral photo is false. The person seen with Balasaheb Thackeray in the photo is not Shiv Sena’s rebel leader Eknath Shinde but Anand Dige.
