Ahead of the state assembly elections, the Uttar Pradesh government under its skill development mission is going to provide one lakh tablets free of cost to skilled workers in the state, said an official press release on Friday. This move will help the skilled workers to further improve their skills and perform better in their jobs.
Yogi Adityanath government is providing comprehensive services through web portal www.sewamitra.up.gov.in, app and call center 155330 to the people at large on one hand and skilled people on the other. Skilled workers should apply for jobs through the portal, which facilitates their training to hone their skills, as part of the government’s skill development mission.
The CM had earlier directed the concerned officers to provide employment to the people standing at the last rung of the society by connecting them with the mission. The labor department had done skill mapping of migrants returning to UP from other states during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, so that they could be employed during that time.
Under this continuous mission of upliftment of workers, the government has started Sewa Mitra service in 25 districts to provide employment to more and more skilled workers through labor department. The service is currently under trial and will soon be rolled out in the remaining districts. A 50 seater call center has also been set up in this regard.
Kunal Silku, Director, Skill Development Mission, described it as an excellent service started by the government for the common people and skilled workers.
A feature of the service is that as soon as a person books the service, the name of the provider and the rate appears on the screen. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to start the service in the remaining districts soon.
Available facilities include AC Service & Repair through Portal, App & Call Center, Appliance Repair, Car Repair & Service, Carpentry, Cleaning & Disinfection, Electrician, IT Hardware & Service, Nursing Plumbing, RO Service & Repair, Barber Huh.
The services are currently available in Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Bareilly, Bijnor, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Lalitpur, Lucknow, Mathura, Meerut, Mirzapur, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Sultanpur, Unnao and Varanasi districts.
