The three accused had brought it in an Eco car and were about to supply it to someone in Bhiwandi.

In Bhiwandi, Thane, adjoining Mumbai, the Crime Branch has arrested three people with 1000 gelatin sticks and 1000 detonators. All three accused are residents of Palghar. After getting such a large quantity of illegal explosives, now the investigation has started in the whole case. Maharashtra ATS team is also probing the matter.

According to the latest information, the three accused had brought it in an Eco car and were about to supply it to someone in Bhiwandi. The three people who have been arrested by the police are Alpesh alias Balya Hiraji Patel, Pankaj Chauhan and Sameer alias Samya Ramchandra Vedga.

The team of Bomb Disposal and Destruction Squad Thane will work to destroy the recovered explosives soon. A case has been registered in this case under section 286 of the Indian Explosives Act, 1908 at Nizampura police station.

Investigation will reach the factory making explosives
It is being ascertained as to where these three were going to deliver the explosives. The cost of the recovered explosives is being said to be Rs 4 lakh 45 thousand. Let us tell you that in Maharashtra, gelatin sticks are not given to anyone from the factory without a license. In such a situation, now the responsible people of the factory making it will also be questioned in this matter.

The arrest of such accused
Sachin Gaikwad, a senior police inspector of Bhiwandi crime branch, had received a tip-off that the banned gelatin and detonators would come for sale from a Maruti Eeco car. After this, on Tuesday, the team of Bhiwandi Crime Branch stopped the Maruti Eeco car (MH-04/FZ-9200) by laying a trap in front of the Nadinaka police post at 3 pm. After this, the suspects in the car, Alpesh alias Balya Hiraji Patil, Pankaj Achhelal Chauhan and Sameer alias Samya Ramchandra Vedga, were taken into custody. After this the car was examined in front of the tribunal and a total of 1000 gelatin sticks and 1000 detonators in 5 boxes have been seized.
