An explosion was heard near the Conoco gas field, where US-backed forces are located, in eastern Syria’s Deir Azor region on Saturday night, according to Syrian state news agency SANA.
Local news source Deir Ezzor 24 reported that the explosion was believed to have been caused by a mortar shell and that sirens were heard in the area.
