WARNING: Spoilers Ahead:

Happy ending for Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-soo:

Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-soo finally begin their journey. Choi Ung receives his wake-up call after a critic dismisses his drawing as a mere doodle, with Kook Yeon-soo’s grandmother (Hulmoni) urging him to follow his heart. Choi Ung decides to move to Paris and fulfill his dream but Kuk wanted Yeon-su by his side. After much deliberation, Yeon-soo convinces her to go to Paris. However, they decide to continue a long distance relationship.

Just before leaving for Paris, Choi Un decides to take one last look at the father who abandoned him and let go of the past. On the other hand, Yeon-soo learns that she has never been alone during her struggle. While she did not have Choi Ung, she has always been surrounded by friends. She decides to stay back and embark on her life in South Korea with all her struggles.

After two years of dating, Choi Ung returns, proposes to Yeon-soo, and they marry. The series ends with Kim Ji-un (Kim Sung-cheol) leading another documentary as fans curious about the couple’s married life. Although they decline at first, they eventually move in.

Kim Ji-un mends his relationship with his mother:

Perhaps the most emotional part of the finale, Kim Ji-un finally decides to bridge the distance between himself and his mother. In the final few moments of the series, Kim Ji-un visits her mother in the hospital and confronts her about being a bad mother. While she explains that she didn’t want her son to be as sad as her, Kim Ji-un is unwilling to forgive her. However, he offers an olive branch and suggests that they start their lives anew as long as they have time. He and his mother then record a documentary that will serve as a memory for him after he leaves.

Kim Ji-un also makes his peace that Yeon-soo and Choi Un are together. A romantic relationship with his co-worker is also hinted at as he confessed to liking her in the finale episode.
