In an exclusive interview with India TV, former Director General of NIA (National Investigation Agency) Yogesh Chandra Modi, who led the investigation of Pulwama attack 2019 in which 40 CRPF personnel were martyred, spoke on the case which has created a lot of controversy in the entire country.   1. Reacting to the ongoing political controversy caused by Congress leader Digvijaya Singh who raised several questions related to the terror attacks, the former NIA DG said it is really painful when people point fingers at agencies for political reasons but it is our Hardly matters. ,
  2. “Unfortunately, they (politicians) do not care about the security personnel who make the supreme sacrifice in such attacks,” he said.

  5. The former DG said that an engineer from the Gurugram Maruti plant was called and he identified the vehicle used for the attack as a Maruti Eeco.
  6. The DNA of suicide bomber Adil Ahmad Dar was tested to establish his links with international terrorist groups but nothing was found.
  7. The biggest success came when the security forces recovered a phone after Maulana Masood Azhar’s nephew Umar Farooq was killed in an encounter and after that the investigation gained momentum.
  8. Pakistan connection of the attack was revealed from his phone. Important details and conversations with their owners were available on the phone in the form of voice-calls.
  9. Farooq was supposed to bring RDX through a tunnel across the International Broder near Hiranagar.
  10. Money was deposited in two banks of Pakistan on the demand of Farooq.
