A case has been registered against BS Yediyurappa under section 8 of the POCSO Act and Section 354 A of the Indian Penal Code

Senior BJP leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa was booked under a section of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor at his residence in Bengaluru.

The case was filed by Sadashivanagar police in Bengaluru based on a complaint by the mother of a 17-year-old girl.

According to sources, the victim’s mother in the complaint alleged that the incident of sexual assault occurred in February when she and her daughter (minor) had gone to seek the former Chief Minister’s help in connection with a cheating case at his residence.

A case has been registered under section 8 of the POCSO Act and Section 354 A of the Indian Penal Code.

As of now, no public statement from Yediyurappa’s side has been issued regarding the allegations.
