Former Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, who was caught in the Corruption Case of Forest Department, will be produced in Mohali court today. Dharamsot is currently lodged in Patiala Central Jail. The most important thing is that after his arrest, Congress has distanced himself from him. No Punjab Congress leader went to jail to meet him. A few days ago, when the Congress demonstrated inside the CM residence, the Aam Aadmi Party surrounded the Congress on this issue.
Alleged bribery in tree felling
Dharamsot was the Forest Minister of the state when Captain Amarinder Singh was the CM. He is accused of taking a commission of Rs 500 for felling a tree despite the permit. His bribery worth Rs.1.25 crore was exposed. After which Vigilance arrested Dharamsot from his house in Amloh at around 3 am. After this, the properties of Dharamsot are also being searched.
During his appearance in the Mohali court, Dharamsot denied the allegations against him.
Congressmen meeting only Sidhu
Former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Sidhu is also lodged in Patiala Jail in the road rage case. Congress leaders are definitely meeting him. Apart from Sidhu’s supporters, many leaders like opposition party leader Pratap Bajwa, Manish Tiwari have met Sidhu in the assembly. However, no one is meeting Dharamsot there.
