Eugene: There were six people shot at during a concert in an event hall Oregon Police said Friday night, and the suspected shooter was not yet in custody.

“When they came to the scene, law enforcement found exactly what you would expect when six people were shot,” Eugene Police Chief Chris Skinner told a news conference. “People are just trying to get out of here, their friends are on the ground, they’re trying to help.”
Skinner said six people were taken to hospital and that at least one of them is in critical condition. The extent of the other injuries was not immediately clear.
Police and WOW Hall leaders said the shooting took place in a back parking lot outside the site.
A concert featuring Lil Bean and Jay Bang and other artists was being held in the hall at the time.
Police said no suspect is in custody. Skinner described the “chaos” when officers arrived, and said investigators had not received further information from potential witnesses.
WOW Hall issued a statement on its website acknowledging the shooting but declined to speculate on any details.
“We at WOW Hall would like to thank all the primary responders who came so quickly to ensure everyone’s safety and provide first aid,” the message read. “We believe all staff and volunteers are safe and accounted for.”
The police chief said investigators have not determined whether the shootings were random or targeted.
