England vs SL, Match Highlights: Jos Buttler’s ton helped England beat Sri Lanka

New Delhi: England defeated Sri Lanka by 26 runs to reach the semi-finals for their fourth consecutive win in the tournament. While Sri Lanka’s team is out of the tournament with the third defeat. Jos Buttler was the hero of England’s victory, who scored an unbeaten 101 and gave England a big score.

Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl. Batting first, England had given a target of 164 runs, in response to which Sri Lanka were all out for 137 runs in 19 overs. Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan took 2 wickets for England. While Liam Livingstone and Chris Woakes took one wicket each.

Chasing the target of 164 runs, Sri Lanka had a very poor start and they lost the first wicket for just 1 run. Opener Pathum Nishanka could only score 1 run. Sri Lanka’s second wicket fell for 24 when Charit Aslanka returned to the pavilion after scoring 21 runs.

After this Kusal Perera got out after scoring 7 runs. Avishka Fernando scored 13 runs. After this, Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 26 runs to advance Lanka’s innings.
