Encounter in Kashmir: A terrorist was killed by security forces in Shopian, top Lashkar commander was killed 4 days ago

Army is running a big operation against terrorists in Kashmir. After killing Kashmir’s top commander Mudasir Pandit 4 days ago, the army has again killed a terrorist on Friday. The identity of the terrorist is yet to be ascertained. Encounter between security forces and terrorists is still going on in Shopian.

According to the Kashmir Police, police personnel are also present on the spot along with the security forces. Earlier, Chinar Corps Commander Lieutenant General DP Pandey had said on Thursday that around 200 terrorists were active in Kashmir. He has expressed hope that the security forces will kill most of the terrorists at the earliest. Lt Gen DP Pandey had said that the people living near the Line of Control (LOC) benefit from the ceasefire. If the situation is just the opposite, then only the common people have to face problems when there is a ceasefire.

Terrorist who killed 2 councilors killed
Earlier, the soldiers had killed three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in an encounter on June 21. These include Lashkar’s top commander Mudasir Pandit. Mudasir was involved in the killing of 3 Kashmiri policemen, 2 councilors and 2 civilians sometime back.

Kashmir IG Vijay Kumar had told that Mudasir was also involved in many other terrorist incidents. He shot dead two councilors Riyaz Ahmed Peer and Shams Uddin Peer near the Lone building in Sopore on March 29. Policeman Shafqat Ahmed also died in this incident.

One and a half months ago 5 terrorists were killed
On 10 April, security forces surrounded 5 terrorists hiding in the mosque in Sopore. The IG of Jammu and Kashmir told that the terrorists were firing continuously. We wanted that no damage should be done to the mosque. So the encounter was stalled for a long time. The imam and the brother of a terrorist were sent inside the mosque to convince the terrorists, but they did not listen. After that the operation was started again. All three terrorists were killed in this action. Three security forces personnel were injured in the firing. The very next day, 3 terrorists were killed in Hadipora, Shopian.
