Billionaire Elon Musk said on Monday that the Chinese government will try to introduce artificial intelligence regulations in his country after meeting with officials during his recent visit to China.

“It’s worth noting that on my recent trip to China, I went to the senior leadership there. I think we had some very productive discussions on Artificial Intelligence risks and the need for some oversight and regulation,” Musk tweeted. said the owner and chief executive officer of Tesla Inc.

China’s cyberspace regulator unveiled draft measures in April to manage generative artificial intelligence services, saying it wants companies to submit security assessments to authorities before launching their offerings to the public.

Many governments are considering how to mitigate the dangers of the emerging technology, which has experienced a surge in investment and consumer popularity in recent months following the release of OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
