Election Commission announces MLC elections in Andhra, Telangana on November 29

after the election coronavirus Pandemic, the Election Commission of India (ECI) said on Sunday that elections for state Legislative Council seats (MLCs) under the MLA quota in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be held on November 29. The Election Commission announced three seats in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively. .

The Election Commission had allowed candidates to file nominations from November 9 to 16. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on November 17, while the Election Commission has given time till 22 for withdrawal of nominations.

The Election Commission also said that polling will be held on November 29 and results will be declared after counting of votes on the same day.

The six seats that fell vacant in Telangana since June 3 are due to the retirement of Gutha Sukhendra Reddy, N Vidya Sagar Rao, Kadeem Srihari, B Venkateswaralu, Akula Lalita and Mohd Fariduddin, respectively.

Similarly, Andhra Pradesh has three MLCs after Chinna Govinda Reddy, Mohammad Sharif and Somu Veeraraju completed their terms till May 31.
