On 8 January, the Election Commission of India announced the dates for the 2022 assembly elections in five electoral states: Punjab, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Uttarakhand. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra along with Election Commission Anoop Chandra Pandey and Rajeev Kumar announced the election schedule and dates. Polling in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa will be held in a single phase on February 14, while in UP, polling will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7. However, Manipur will go to polls in two phases on February 27 and March 3. The votes will be counted. on 10 March.
