Lok Sabha Election 2024: Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate from Mandi Kangana Ranaut hit back at the Congress on Thursday and and called Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh ‘Chhota Pappu’, days after his ‘beef-eating’ remark against the BJP candidate. She also said that the Congress has nothing to talk about except her character.
Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Friday (April 12) to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). PM Modi addressed a poll rally in Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency where Union Minister Jitendra Singh seeks reelection. He slammed the INDIA bloc leaders for their ‘Mughal mindset’ and accused them of instigating people’s beliefs.
PM Modi’s jab came days after a video of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav eating non-veg went viral. Referring to the video, PM Modi said, “I don’t have a problem with whatever one eats, but I oppose those who instigate beliefs…They eat non-veg during Navratri and tease people by showing the video. By showing videos of non-veg food during Navratri, by hurting the sentiments of people, whom are they trying to please? Today, after I say this, these people will shower abuse on me. But when things become intolerable, then it is my responsibility in democracy to tell the country the true side of things.”
PM also addressed a public rally in Barmer (Rajasthan). He will later hold a road show from Somnath Square to Gupteshwar Darwaja in Dausa around 5 PM. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav also started campaigning for the party candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls from the Pilibhit Lok Sabha constituency today.
