Hyderabad: English and Foreign Languages University Vice Chancellor and UGC member, Prof. E Suresh Kumar called upon the faculty and the staff to strive to further strengthen the EFLU’s image as an institution of international eminence.
Speaking on the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations held on the university campus here, Prof. Suresh Kumar said the EFLU was witnessing an all-round development and was growing from strength to strength.
“Promoting excellence in academics and research are vital to emerge as the international institution of eminence in quality higher education in languages and literature and allied subjects,” the VC said.

Listing out the various achievements of the EFLU, Prof. Suresh Kumar said the EFLU had prepared the blueprint for the implementation of National Education Policy-2020 for 11 States including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, and the union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Prof. Suresh Kumar paid rich tributes to the contribution of Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar for his role as the chairman of the drafting committee and other members of the Constituent Assembly for gifting the country with one of the best and the most comprehensive constitutions in the world.
The EFLU VC exhorted the teachers, staff, and students to take forward the mission of Atma Nirbhar Bharat through quality education, research, and innovation as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As part of the celebrations, a short film on the academic activities, initiatives, and infrastructural developments of the EFLU was screened. Teachers, staff members, and students took part in the Republic Day celebrations through face to face/ online mode.
