Education Minister launches School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at IIT Hyderabad

BVRSCIENT aims to nurture and develop world-class innovation and entrepreneurial talent from India. It will offer a wide range of courses including Undergraduate, Masters, Executive and PhD programmes.

Speaking on the occasion, the Education Minister said that India Going to play a leading role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and IIT Hyderabad will play a major role in building Brand India globally and creating a better and prosperous future, especially during Amrutkal. “We have to fulfill the prime minister’s dream of self-reliant India,” he said.

He further said that India cannot be just a consuming country. “We have to innovate and set our own model to achieve self-reliance as well as advance global welfare,” he said. He said that NEP 2020 is a roadmap to place India at the top of the newly emerging world order.

Pradhan further said that skill development is a lifelong process and NEP 2020 emphasizes on integrating skill development in the education system. He suggested IIT Hyderabad and industry experts to set up a world class skill development center at IITH to tap IR 4.0 and 21st century job markets.

Institute signed an MoU with Greenco for setting up Greenco School of Sustainable Science technology (GSSST). MoU was signed to start India’s first dedicated school for sustainable science and technology. The school aims to bridge the growing research, education and skills gap due to the imperative of sustainable development. The school will advance knowledge in climate change mitigation, AI and space technology, energy transition and industrial transformation, circular and regenerative economy, etc.

The GSSST will open later this year and aims to engage students for MTech and PhD in sustainable science and technology by June 2023, followed by BTech programmes. GREENCO is working in consultation with Ministry of Education, AICTE, NCERT and NCVET to ensure that GSSST aligns and advances learning in sustainable science and technology.

IITH also inaugurated technology The Innovation Park (TIP), is an incubation ecosystem that nurtures ideas and innovations into viable technical and business ventures. The Research Center Complex (RCC) was also inaugurated today, which aims to set up sophisticated laboratories with state-of-the-art research equipment.
