New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday called for early implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP), saying it is more than just a document.

Pradhan directed officials of the Ministries of Education and Skill Development to raise policy awareness among stakeholders and create a strong skill-education convergence in a joint meeting.

“Reviewed the progress made in the implementation of the National Education Policy, along with my ministerial colleagues from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the Ministry of Education. “NEP is not just a document but a guiding philosophy for us. A futuristic vision covering the entire spectrum of education, NEP strives to achieve holistic development of the future generation,” said the minister.

Ministers of State (MoS) for Education, Annapurna Devi, Subhash Sarkar, and Rajkumar Ranjan Singh also attended the meeting.

The NEP, which was approved by the Union Cabinet in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year, replaces the 34-year-old National Policy on Education formulated in 1986 and aims to pave the way for transformational reforms in school and higher education. is.
