ED raids premises of AAP MLA Amargarh Jaswant Singh in Punjab | Ludhiana News – Times of India

LUDHIANA: Just two days after Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on Punjab government officials and contractors in Punjab in connection with Delhi Excise Scam case, agency’s zonal unit Jalandhar on Thursday morning raided premises of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Amargarh Jaswant Singh.
According to sources, the raid is being conducted at home and business premises of the MLA located in Malerkotla. Some of his associates too are being covered in the action.
Sources also disclosed that the ED raid is fallout of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case registered against MLA in connection with the Rs 40.92 crore bank fraud allegedly committed by the companies (including M/s Tara Corporation Ltd in which Singh was one of the directors) connected with Jaswant Singh and his associates.
Notably in May 2022, CBI had also conducted raid on the MLA and others involved in the bank fraud. At that time, CBI had claimed that the raided companies and its directors had borrowed loan to the tunes of several crores from Bank of India’s Ludhiana branch on pretext of using it for business but instead diverted the money for other purposes.
