ED raid at Harsh Mander’s house: Raid over money misappropriation in Children’s Home, a few hours before that former IAS officer and activist had left for Germany

Enforcement Directorate raids activist Harsh Mander’s house and office. These raids have been conducted in connection with the FIR filed by the Economic Offenses Wing of Delhi Police. It was raided a few hours after Harsh Mander left for Germany with his wife.

At 3 am on Thursday, Harsh left for a six-month fellowship at the Robert Bosch Academy in Berlin. After that his house in Vasant Kunj and his office in Center for Equity Studies were raided together. At the same time, two children’s homes run by his NGO were also raided.

Raid on money misappropriation in children’s homes
The FIR was lodged by the Delhi Police on the instructions of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). According to the NCPCR, two children’s homes of Harsh Mander in Mehrauli, Delhi – Udemy Aman Ghar (for boys) and Khushi Rainbow Home (for girls) have allegedly been found to have money misappropriation.

Mander has been a collector in Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh
Harsh Mander is the director of the Center for Equity Studies, New Delhi. He has served as a special commissioner in the Supreme Court in the Right to Food campaign and has been a member of the Central Government’s National Advisory Council during the UPA government. He has served as an IAS in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for two decades.
