Economic Survey 2022: GDP pegged at 9.2%, FY23 at 8-8.5%, agriculture sector at 3.9%

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind, in his joint address to Parliament ahead of the budget session on Monday, mentioned the government’s major achievements in the health sector, while lauding the pharma sector’s contribution to the pandemic globally.

He said that India’s capability in fighting the pandemic is evident in the vaccination programme. “In less than a year, we created a record of delivering more than 150 crore doses of the vaccine. Today, we are one of the leading countries in the world in terms of maximum dosage,” the President said in his keynote address.

After the President’s speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Economic Survey on Parliament. The survey document was presented ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget on February 1 (Tuesday).
