Ahmedabad : Prime Minister Narendra Modi Said on Saturday that earlier there was a lack of transparency in the selection of athletes for competitions, due to which the talent of the players was wasted.
He was speaking after the inauguration of the 11th edition.Khel Mahakumbh‘, an annual sports competition organized here by the Government of Gujarat.
“Earlier there was a lack of transparency in the selection of athletes for the competitions, which wasted the talent of our players,” he said.

“They had to face such difficulties. But now the situation has changed and sportspersons are achieving success. The brilliance of gold and silver medals is boosting the confidence of our youth,” Modi said.
