Perpetrators of communal violence in Bangladesh on Saturday vandalized six idols of Daniyapara Maha Shoshan Kali Temple at Rashuniya Sangha in Sirajdikhan Upazila of Munshiganj. According to The Daily Star, the vandalism took place between 3 am and 4 am, it was confirmed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (Sirajdikhan Circle) Mohammad Rashedul Islam.

“There was no security in the temple and only idols were vandalised,” he said.

As reported by The Daily Star, Shubhrata Dev Nath Vanu, general secretary of Daniyapara Mahasamashan Kali Mandir Committee, said, “The lock of the main entrance was found broken and the tin shed was also cut and all the idols of the temple were vandalised. had gone.”

“We are preparing to file a complaint with the police.

“An incident like this had never happened in the temple before,” Shuvrat said.

Communal violence broke out at several places in Bangladesh on Wednesday after news surfaced on social media about alleged desecration of the Holy Quran at a Durga Puja site on the banks of Nanuar Dighi.

Several places of worship were vandalized in Chandpur, Chittagong, Ghazipur, Bandarban, Chapainwabganj and Maulvibazar. Many people were injured in the clashes.

One person, Jatan Kumar Saha, was killed and 17 others were injured in the attack on Friday at Begumganj upazila in Bangladesh’s Noakhali district. Also, a mob attacked the ISKCON temple in Bangladesh’s Noakhali district on Friday and according to the community, one of its members was killed.
