A section of students who appeared for an examination of Delhi University’s School of Open Learning (SOL) on Monday alleged that there was a glitch in the distribution of question papers and some of them were given those meant for regular students.

A section of students who appeared for an examination of Delhi University’s School of Open Learning (SOL) on Monday alleged that there was a glitch in the distribution of question papers and some of them were given those meant for regular students.

However, the examination branch of Delhi University said that no such complaint has come to it so far.

In some exam centers like Aurobindo College and Laxmibai College, students were given question paper for SOL students. However, in several others such as Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College and Ram Lal Anand College, some students were given question papers meant for regular students, alleged student group Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS).

In a statement, the group alleged, “Today’s incident once again exposes the sheer mismanagement and lawlessness that has become the hallmark of SOL and DU administration, who are not at all concerned about the future of lakhs of students studying in SOL.” “

The maximum marks of both the papers were also different. Sangeeta, a first-year BA student, said that one paper of SOL carried 30 marks, while the other paper carried 40 marks.

Those who did not receive the SOL questionnaire urged the university to compensate them or allow re-examination.

“We do not know what to do. Due to the mismanagement and continuous apathy of the SOL administration, students are suffering,” said Apoorva, a first-year BA student.

Earlier this month, SOL suddenly announced the cancellation of BA and B.Com first year exams while students were writing papers.

KYS alleges that there is a long list of mismanagement of the SOL administration which has time and again put the future of the students in jeopardy.

However, university officials denied the allegations.

“Two papers were conducted. One for regular students and the other for SOL students. Both these papers (Regular and SOL) were sent to each center in separate envelopes. And was informed well in the morning through WhatsApp messages,” Dean Examinations DS Rawat told PTI.

On claims of rigging in the question paper, he said, “We have not received any such complaint from any center except a WhatsApp message from a student political group.”

KYS has demanded strict action against the SOL officials from the DU administration.

“Besides, a separate examination wing should be set up for SOL to ensure that students do not face trouble during the examination process. KYS will intensify its struggle against the apathetic DU and SOL administration in the days to come.
