A Dubai-Amritsar drunken passenger has been arrested at the Amritsar airport for allegedly molesting an airhostess on a flight coming from Dubai in an inebriated state, local police said on Monday. The name of the airline is yet to be revealed, but there are several airlines including SpiceJet, Indigo, Air India Express that operate direct flights on this international sector, while many others have flights stopping in Delhi as well, including Air India.
According to initial reports, Rajinder Singh, a resident of Kotli village in Jalandhar, had a heated exchange with the airhostess and allegedly molested her, police said. The cabin crew informed the captain of the flight about the incident, who informed the Amritsar control room.
The assistant security manager of the airline lodged a complaint with the police and the accused was arrested as soon as he landed at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport. He was booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.
