Drug Case: After Aryan Khan, NCB Arrests Shreyas Nair
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Monday arrested a man named Shreyas Nair, who allegedly had links with a Bollywood star. Shah Rukh KhanAryan Khan, a resident of Goregaon, in a drug case. Earlier today, Aryan Khan and seven others were sent to three-day NCB custody by a Mumbai court in connection with the seizure of drugs on a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. The Esplanade Court in Mumbai sent Aryan, Arbaaz Seth Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha to NCB custody till October 7. An NCB team busted an alleged drugs party on board the Cordelia cruise ship, which was on its way to Goa in the middle of the sea on the night of October 2. .
According to NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, the NCB has detained eight persons for questioning in connection with the seizure of drugs on the cruise ship. All eight men were later arrested on 3 October. All the eight accused, including Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Seth Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, Vikrant Chhokar, Ismeet Singh, Nupur Sarika, Gomit Chopra and Mohk Jaswal, were produced in Mumbai’s Esplanade Court. According to the NCB, three persons, including Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Seth Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, have been booked under sections 8C, 20B, 27 (punishment for the use of any intoxicating drug or psychotropic substance) and 35 (presumption of unsound mental state). Case has been registered. In defense of Aryan Khan, lawyer Satish Maneshinde said in the court, “Accused number 1, Aryan Khan was invited for a cruise party. However, he did not have a boarding pass. They didn’t have any seats or cabins there. Secondly, nothing has been found from his possession as per the seizure. He has been arrested on the basis of chat only.
Other accused in the case include Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Singh Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra and Vikrant Chhokar.
