Jammu: Drone activities were again detected near Jammu airbase in the early hours of Wednesday. In less than a week, drones were sighted near the Jammu Air Force Station and the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor’s Pallanwala area late on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the authorities have sounded an alert and started extensive checks at various nakas/security posts in the area.
According to sources, a drone was sighted near Jammu airbase at around 0400-4005 on Wednesday. Satwari, a few hundred meters from the air base.
He said, “An information was received that an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV/Suspected Drone) was spotted at two different places in Sector Satwari in the early hours of Wednesday.
“At around 0400 hrs a drone was seen hovering over the civil airport and for the second time a similar object was again seen hovering over the Pir Baba area of Satwari near Jammu Air Base.”
Later these flying objects disappeared and the concerned authorities were informed about these activities and a search was launched to locate the said flying objects.
Earlier, on July 15, one drone was sighted near the Air Force Station in Jammu, while another was seen near the Line of Control in Pallanwala. The two incidents come less than 24 hours after BSF personnel returned a suspected drone to Pakistan along the International Border (IB) in Arnia, Jammu.
