Raising the issue in the Lok Sabha during the budget session, Dr. Shinde said that between February 1 and March 11, the number of passengers traveling in AC local trains on this route is 65,000, which is about 2500-3000 passengers per day per train and There are daily riders. The number of passengers in these trains is less than 50%.
Shinde said that the fare of AC local train on this route is 10 times more than that of second class train and twice the fare of first class which is not affordable for citizens traveling on this route.
Therefore it is necessary that the fare of AC local train should be reduced and normal local train services should be increased on this fifth and sixth line so that maximum number of passengers can take advantage of it.
He also demanded to start the work of extension of fifth and sixth railway line from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at the earliest.
He also said that after Supreme court In the order, notices were issued by the Railway Administration to immediately vacate these lands to lakhs of citizens living illegally on railway-related lands in Mumbai and across the country. Residents who have been residing on this land for the last 40 to 50 years or more should not be left to live for themselves without any resettlement.
Shinde said that recently our MPs and MLAs from MMR region met Raosaheb Danve, Minister of State for Railways, during which he agreed not to send notices to the residents for vacating the land to the Central Government, State Government, Railways Was. The administration and the district collector agreed to rehabilitate them.
He also urged the Central Railway not to take any action till the resettlement of these residents is approved.
