Downton Abbey A New Era to release in Indian cinemas on this date – Henry’s Club

Downton’s Days came back. The sequel and first film of the television series, Downtown Abbey: A New Era follows the story of the residents of Downton as a new film is being filmed at their property. Downton Abbey: A New Era will hit Indian cinemas on June 3.

The film’s trailer reveals that Maggie Smith’s Lady Violet has inherited a villa in the south of France from a man she had known as a young woman. The Crowley family is shocked to find out about it. Back in Downton, the family is preparing to welcome a film crew.

Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Michelle Dockery, Raquel Cassidy and others reprized their roles from the series.

Written by series creator Julian Fellowes, the film is directed by Simon Curtis. Curtis said in a statement, “I’ve been very fortunate to have made some things in television like David Copperfield and Cranford, which meant I had experience working with great actors. What was intimidating about directing Downton The point, (which I’m sure all previous directors have realized too), is that there’s no such thing as an easy scene in Downton. At least four mini scenes and four separate clusters of dialogue in one big scene. There may be, all of which require coverage from different angles and that takes time.”

He continued, “In this film, we had the usual ensemble of actors, then added in crew and actors for film within film, as well as our own crew and over 50 setups for a special dinner scene over three days. It was a relief to reach the end of that scene.”
