Don’t want to buy ghee from the store? No problem. Here’s how you make it at home

Many people prefer to make desi ghee at home instead of buying it from the shop. Homemade ghee is pure and healthy. However, extracting ghee can sometimes take more effort and time. Many people find it difficult to extract ghee at home during the winter season. As a result, many families buy ghee from the market instead of making ghee at home. If you buy ghee in winters because you cannot make it at home, then there is a solution for you.

Here is how you can easily make it at home. By collecting cream for a week, you can easily extract up to a liter of ghee. The method is simple and quick.

If you are planning to make cream out of milk at home, then buy full cream milk instead of toned milk. The longer you boil it, the more cream it will make when it cools.

Keep the cream in a cup in the refrigerator for a week to 15 days. When you have half or one kilo of cream, then separate the ghee from it.

Ghee Extraction

Take the cream out of the fridge to bring it to room temperature. This can be done 4 to 5 hours in advance.

After about an hour of keeping the cream at room temperature, you will notice that it has softened. Now add a spoonful of curd to the cream and beat it a little. Cover it and keep it aside for an hour.

After an hour, adding curd will make the cream soft. Now start whisking it with the help of a spoon. It is also necessary to add lukewarm water while whisking.

After whisking for five minutes, the water and butter will separate from the cream. After whisking a few more, you will see that the butter is floating in the water. Separate this butter in a pan.

Now, pour some water over the butter to remove the butter and heat the remaining butter in a pan on the gas stove.

Once the pan is heated, the butter and ghee will start separating. Now filter the ghee and keep it in a jar.
