After the season ended, rumors were rife that Jadeja had a falling out with Dhoni after being stripped of the captaincy and that CSK might release him.

However, it all calmed down after the management intervened and both Dhoni and Jadeja spoke to sort out the differences. “I don’t think Jaddu (Jadeja) was upset with Mahi bhai at all. It was just that he was unhappy because the team was not doing well. Rayudu said on BehindwoodsTV’s YouTube channel, not everyone’s performance was good that year.

He (Dhoni) has made this team and made Jaddu (Jadeja) what he is today. What 10-12 years, they have brought him up. So he would naturally be happy that the product he has built has won the final for CSK after what happened last year,” he further added.

Jadeja, who was the hero for CSK by hitting a four and a six off the last two balls, dedicated the win to MS Dhoni as he emotionally hugged the skipper after the yellow team lifted their fifth title.

While Dhoni is set to continue leading the team in the next season as well, Rayudu has picked Ruturaj Gaikwad as the successor to the legendary captain at CSK considering he has led Maharashtra in domestic cricket and will lead India in the Asian Games 2023.
