‘Don’t tell Rahul Dravid how to run the team’: Jadeja’s cheeky message to BCCI

Former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja has taken a jibe at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), saying that Rahul Dravid should be given full autonomy to run the team and the administration should not interfere in the team.

“So if you have brought in the biggest names Rahul Dravid, then at least go with his vision. My request to the board is that if someone like Rahul Dravid has joined, please go ahead with his vision, understanding and dedication. Go on, don’t tell him how to run the team,” Ajay Jadeja told Cricbuzz.

‘let him work’

Jadeja was clearly unhappy with the BCCI’s conduct with its coaches and wanted the board to allow the new coach to work without any hindrance.

“If there is a role model of discipline and dedication, it is Rahul Dravid. You want a lot from a coach but discipline and dedication are probably the two key things. It will be interesting to see who will make the next T20 captain – Rahul Dravid or [the selectors],” she added.

Jadeja told Cricbuzz, “There is no doubt in his praise, but when someone becomes an Indian coach, if you don’t let him work or don’t use his foresight it’s all meaningless, nobody like that. Could be a coach.”

Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. He will take charge from the upcoming home series against New Zealand.

Recently, Dravid was associated as the head coach of Team India in the limited overs series against Sri Lanka. After the T20 World Cup, the tenure of the current head coach of India Ravi Shastri is coming to an end. Dravid will take over as the head coach of Team India after the end of the World Cup.
