Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday called on the central government not to impose Hindi on the state, saying: “Don’t impose Hindi on us. Treat Tamil as Hindi.”

In his address at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he also said that his state is a model of inclusive development and it is the Dravidian model.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi district on Thursday following the murder of a 25-year-old Hindu youth, who was in love with a woman of a different religion.

The deceased has been identified as Vijaya Kamble, a resident of Bhima Nagar Layout, Vaditown in the district.
