Speculation continues to abound over MS Dhoni’s IPL future as the Chennai Super Kings skipper is yet to confirm or deny whether the current season will be his final as a player.

Will be, isn’t it?

that is the question. MS Dhoni has kept his cards close to his chest. He is not denying or confirming if IPL 2023 is indeed the last season of his illustrious playing career.

Given the massive support Dhoni has been receiving in home and away games, fans feel that this will be a season of farewell for one of the greatest cricketers to have ever played the game.

However, Dhoni has been a revelation with the bat. He is batting lower down the order for CSK but is striking at 204.25. He faced a total of 47 balls in 8 innings and scored 96 runs with the help of three fours and 10 sixes.

He is handling the team well, using his bowlers judiciously and hasn’t let the knee problem deter him or the team.

So should Dhoni continue playing for at least one more season?

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh believes that the 41-year-old shouldn’t retire.

Harbhajan said, ‘MS Dhoni has stopped time’ star sports, He said, ‘He still looks the same old Dhoni. He is hitting big shots, taking singles. Although he is not hitting his full pace, he is hitting those sixes with ease and still looks dangerous with the bat. Don’t hurt our sentiments MSD. You should keep playing.”

Harbhajan gave several reasons why it is not the time for Dhoni to say goodbye as a player.

“When a player reaches the tail end of his career, there is a lot of hue and cry. MS Dhoni shut out the noise brilliantly and has slowly guided his team through this season. He has helped CSK stay in the hunt for the top two spots so far. It is not just his captaincy but the on-field strategies he has devised that have helped CSK do well. He made many smart moves in the tournament. (Ajinkya) Rahane is a perfect example of how a player revives himself under a good captain,” he said.
