Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Choudhary on Tuesday rubbished exit poll predictions of BJP’s return to power in Uttar Pradesh.

“Whatever issues we could have taken before the public, we did,” Choudhary told reporters. People have also voted. Until the EVMs are opened, no one can know the result. There is a process of exit polls. I have never seen any person doing exit polls at booths while casting their votes. I do not agree with this exit poll process.”

He said that on March 10, the SP-RLD coalition government will be formed in the state.

“We saw the enthusiasm and determination of the public during the election campaign. He showed faith and confidence in our alliance. I think the survey has yielded different results.”

The RLD chief termed the exit polls as an attempt to “pressure” and said it demoralizes those who want change in Uttar Pradesh.

There is no doubt that our alliance will form the government in Uttar Pradesh this time. All this (exit polls) is an attempt to create mental pressure. This is a way to demoralize those who want change in the state. Sometimes people form their own opinion based on the statements of others.”

Jayant Choudhary further said, “Some people instead of doing anything for the state went away with bulldozers for their election campaign.”

The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
