Doctor cheated the family on the pretext of operation, arrested Noida News – Times of India

Noida: A doctor was arrested from Lahori Gate in New Delhi on Tuesday for duping a Noida family of Rs 8 lakh in the name of kidney transplant. Police said the accused has been identified as Buland Akhtar, a resident of Sector 19, Noida.
Noida DCP Ranvijay Singh said that in May, one Ahmed Khan had filed a complaint with the Sector 20 police that a doctor had taken money from his family for a kidney transplant procedure, but did not perform the surgery. Sector 20 SHO Munish Chauhan said the patient, a resident of Sector 31, was taken to several hospitals, including AIIMS in New Delhi, and most doctors recommended the procedure. Abdul Ghaffar, a neighbor told the family about Akhtar and Ahmed, the patient’s brother met him.
“The doctor asked for Rs 10 lakh to perform the surgery. Later he was given eight lakh rupees through Ghaffar. But the family said that the doctor did not arrange for the surgery and the patient died in January.
“When Ahmed asked for the money, the doctor refused to return it,” said a police officer. A case has been registered against Akhtar under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 120B (punishment for criminal conspiracy). He was produced in the court and sent to judicial custody. news network
