Yes, you read it right! In an interview to a news portal, Neena had asked Masaba not to become an actor here in India. He told her that she could go abroad and try her hand at acting but not here in India. According to Neena, looking at her looks and body, she will always get fewer roles in Indian cinema. The actress also told her daughter that she can never be Hema Malini or Alia Bhatt.
The mother-daughter duo recently featured in a web-show titled ‘Masaba Masaba’ which received positive reviews from the audience and critics alike.
Neena has raised Masaba as a single mother. The actress was in a relationship with cricketer Vivian Richards. However, she never married the cricketer. When she was pregnant with Masaba, her friend and actor Satish Kaushik offered to marry her.
She revealed in her autobiography that she had told him that if her child was born with a dark skin tone, all she could say was that it was her child and that they would marry.
The actress also opened up on the professional front about all the things that led to the image she created. She also said that she used to get all the negative roles of a domineering woman in the house because she feels that in our films a strong woman means a negative woman.
