‘DNA’ becomes first BTS music video with 1 billion hits – Times of India

What could be better news for bts armyfrom ‘DNA‘ Hitting the one billion figure. BTS’ music video ‘DNA’ became the first Korean boy band music video to hit the 1 billion mark on YouTube. Sena went crazy on Twitter and congratulated the cast on their achievement with the hashtag #DNA1B.

One user commented, “And now DNA has 1.3 billion views on YouTube today. Wow. Congrats to us, let’s stream more.” Another user commented and added screenshots of the video expressing his excitement, “They are actually five videos in total reaching 1B views and only over half that far away! #BoyWithLuv1B #DNA1B #bts.”

Besides BTS’ DNA, other Korean music videos that have garnered 1 billion views on YouTube are Blackpin’s “Kill This Love” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU”. Apart from this, it is also PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ and ‘gentleman‘.

The song hit the screens on July 2, 2021 at 11:55 PM (KST). The music video took 3 years, 9 months, 14 days, 5 hours and 55 minutes to reach the milestone as the music video was released on September 18, 2017 at 6 PM (KST). Upon release, ‘DNA’ was critically acclaimed for its production, sound and direction. ‘DNA’ was a commercial success as it peaked at number two on the Village Digital Chart and number one on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. It has since sold 2.5 billion copies in South Korea.

BTS is a group of six members consisting of Jin, Suga, J-Hopehandjob jungkookhandjob Jimin, RM and V. Her debut was in 2013 with her solo album 2 Cool 4 School. They were originally known as the Bangtan Boys and were a hip-hop group but their music includes different styles.
