Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has said that the DMK will take all steps to coordinate with the opposition ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing reporters on his arrival here from Japan on Wednesday night, he accused the ruling BJP at the Center of trying to intimidate opposition parties by using agencies like Income Tax, CBI and ED. from his cabinet colleague V Senthil Balaji last week.

As far as the BJP government is concerned, vendetta and targeting (of other political parties) using IT, ED and CBI is already happening in other states. IT has started here, he said.

The chief minister returned to Chennai after a nine-day official visit to Singapore and Japan to attract more investment in the state.

Asked about Thursday’s meeting with Delhi and Punjab chief ministers Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann respectively and whether it was part of “coordination with the opposition”, the DMK president said, “This effort Already in progress. “This is not new. DMK will also participate in it wholeheartedly.”

To a question about the ‘sengol’ (scepter) being installed in the new Parliament building and whether it was a symbol of Tamil pride, the chief minister said it would have been if it was indeed from the Chola dynasty as claimed.

“The way our women wrestlers were attacked by the police, Sengol bowed down that day,” she said, referring to her protest demanding the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India chief Brijbhushan Sharan Singh for alleged sexual harassment.

On his two-nation visit, Stalin said investment proposals worth over Rs 3,000 crore have been signed.
