In the wake of targeted killings of religious minorities by terrorists, Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Pandurang K Pol on Saturday reviewed the process of deploying Kashmiri Pandit employees to safer areas.

A spokesperson said the officer reviewed the status of migrant and Jammu-based employees working in various government departments in the Valley and who got jobs under the Prime Minister’s Employment Package.

“Poll convened a meeting of Deputy Commissioners and Divisional Heads of all civil departments to review the status of PM package employees, migrants and transfer from Jammu to safer places in view of the recent attacks,” he said.

The spokesman said officials informed the poll about the progress made in addressing the service matters of the Prime Minister’s package employees, including seniority and couple transfers.

Poll stressed on the officers to contact each such employee and inquire about their interest of transfer. He said that those giving consent for transfer should be posted in district headquarters or urban towns or within three kilometer radius of urban towns.

The spokesman said that Pol appreciated all the district and divisional officers for taking prompt action regarding the transfer to ensure the safety of the employees.
