Disappointed for fans that the series didn’t end well: James Anderson | Cricket News – Times of India

Manchester: England’s fast bowler James Anderson “Hurt” that the fifth Test against India at their home ground, Old Trafford, was cancelled, leading to a premature end to the thrilling series which he said deserved a better end.
The final match of the series was called off when a physio in the Indian camp tested positive before the game, leaving the visiting players apprehensive, although they all tested negative.

Anderson, 39, also wondered whether he would get a chance to play another Test match for England at his home ground.
Anderson wrote on his Instagram page, “For everyone in Lancashire cricket, for the fans paying for the ticket/train/hotel, for both sets of supporters who wanted to see this series come to an end. I’m ready.”

He continued, “I hope to play it again at some point and I hope to get to play another international game at my home ground which I love very much.”
Indian cricketers, led by skipper Virat Kohli, refused to play as they were apprehensive about testing positive in the incubation period, which would coincide with the dates of Test matches between September 12-16.

The very next day after the cancellation of the Test match, all the Indian cricketers contracted with the IPL franchise left for Dubai.
Anderson has taken 632 wickets in 166 Tests with 15 wickets in four Test matches against India.
