His demise led to some confusion, as a few mistakenly associated him with the director Sajid Khan of ‘Housefull’ fame. To clear up the misunderstanding, the director confirmed that he is alive and in good health.
On Thursday morning, Sajid Khan, the film director, television presenter, and actor, took to his Instagram account to address the confusion surrounding the recent passing of actor Sajid Khan. In a video, Sajid Khan clarified that the deceased actor was in his 70s and played the young Sunil Dutt in the 1957 film Mother India. Sajid Khan emphasized the misinformation circulating in the media, expressing that irresponsible outlets had used his photo in connection with the actor’s demise. He extended condolences to the late actor and urged for accurate reporting.
In addition, he shared that since the previous night, numerous people have been contacting him, asking, ‘Tu zinda hai na?’. He reassured everyone that he is indeed alive and in good health, expressing his intention to continue entertaining his audience. Sajid Khan earnestly requested the media, friends, fans, and viewers worldwide to take note of his well-being and clarified that the actor Sajid Khan, who passed away, deserves sincere condolences, emphasizing the need for accurate information.
Sharing the video, he wrote, “R.i.p. Sajid Khan (1951-2023)… not me as reported with my pic by some media people…”.
For those unaware, Sajid Khan, the brother of Farah Khan, is a well-known film director who has directed movies like Heyy Babyy, Housefull, Housefull 2, Himmatwala, Humshakals, among others. Apart from directing, he has also ventured into acting with roles in films such as Mjhooth Bale Kkauwa Kaate, Happy New Year, and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
Meanwhile, the late Sajid Khan, known for his role in Mother India, portrayed the titular character in Mehboob Khan’s Son of India.
