Tamil director Atlee is the one with whom Thalapathy Vijay has given some hits. Three of Vijay’s films – Theri, Mercel and Bigil – directed by Atlee – turned out to be huge blockbusters with just the right amount of style, action, emotion and romance.
The talented director has always presented Vijay in a way that a fan would want to see and Raippan’s character from the movie Bigil remains a favourite. The role of the elderly gangster portrayed by Vijay impressed the audience and Raippan became an instant hit.
Since we are living in an era where cinematic genres include spinoff films on characters as well as prequels, many have wondered whether anyone will ever get to see a prequel on Raiappan. And now, Atlee has sparked speculation about a possible film of a similar nature.
Twitter handle of amazon prime The video, which has the streaming rights to the film, recently posted a picture of Raippan and wrote, “Imagine an entire film made only for Raippan’s story.” In case the tweet itself wasn’t exciting enough for fans, director Atlee responded to the tweet, saying, “Senjitua Pochuou” in his trademark style. This has sparked speculation on social media that Atlee indeed has plans for Raiappan and fans are now more eager than ever for an Atlee-Vijay reunion.

Vijay plays two roles in Bigil, a mass entertainer set in the world of women’s football. Vijay wore a salt and pepper look for the role of Raippan, and his portrayal of a boy with trouble stammering was praised by many.
On the work front, Atlee is currently working on his Bollywood Feature of the first film Shahrukh Khan And Nayanthara is in the lead.
