Digi Yatra was initially launched at three airports on December 1 last year and will be implemented at Kolkata, Pune, Vijayawada and Hyderabad airports from March 2023.

Digi Yatra, a voluntary service that provides hassle-free and seamless airport experience to passengers, is now offering app updates after receiving feedback and making changes to enhance users’ experience.

People who are using the app have received notifications to update it. After the update was complete, he received a message stating “Introducing DigiYatra 2.0”.

The note from Digi Yatra said: “We are excited to announce the latest update to our app with an improved registration process. With this release, you can expect – easier and faster new user sign-up, an improved registration process and a dedicated response from within the app, making it easy for you to share your thoughts and ideas with us.

It added: “We are dedicated to providing a seamless user experience and hope this new feature will enhance your time with our app.”

Generally, an update is delivered to fix bugs, but it is also possible to deploy new features as well. When apps have bugs, it can affect usage and performance. User may face graphical error or sudden shutdown in the app. Any such flaws in an application can be fixed by software updates, which again boosts performance and increases effectiveness.

News18 has contacted the Ministry of Civil Aviation to know the reason behind releasing the latest update, but has not received any response yet.

users facing problems

Meanwhile, Jet Airways CEO Sanjeev Kapoor took to Twitter on February 3 to highlight some issues regarding Digi Yatra. Sharing a screenshot of the app, he said that he was facing an error on the app while trying to add identity.

As per the screenshot, the error reads: “Unfortunately, we are unable to enroll you at this time. We apologize for this inconvenience. Our technical team is working on a quick solution.”

In the same Twitter thread, Kapoor also tagged the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Delhi airport, saying he was getting a gray screen on his Android phone when he tried to add an identity on the Digi Yatra app. “It worked fine till both DigiYatra and DigiLocker released the app update. It seems the integration got lost after that,” he wrote.

Like Kapoor, there were other Twitter users who faced the same problem while using the Digi Yatra app.

Digi Yatra was initially launched on December 1 last year in three airports – Delhi, Varanasi and Bengaluru. This week, Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh informed the Lok Sabha that the service would be implemented at Kolkata, Pune, Vijayawada and Hyderabad airports from March 2023.
