Wrestlers have been on strike since April 23, demanding the arrest of WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Shocked and appalled by the Delhi Police’s callous behavior towards the protesting wrestlers late Thursday evening, Vinesh Phogat said they are not criminals and do not deserve such humiliation.

The wrestlers have been on a sit-in since April 23, demanding the arrest of WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, alleging that he sexually assaulted seven female wrestlers, including a minor.

At around 11 pm, a scuffle broke out between the protesting wrestlers at Jantar Mantar when they were bringing folding beds for their night’s rest and the policemen on duty allegedly started making inquiries about it.

According to the wrestlers, the police officers started ill-behaving with them and also misbehaved with the women wrestlers.

“If you want to kill us, kill us,” Vinesh said while talking to the media late in the night.

Did we win medals for the country to see this day? We haven’t even eaten our food. Does every man have the right to misbehave with women? These policemen have guns, they can kill us,” said an emotionally exhausted Vinesh.

“Where were the women police officers? How can male officers push us like this. We are not criminals. We don’t deserve this kind of treatment. Drunk police officer hit my brother,” said the world championship medallist.

Bajrang Punia appealed to the farmers and the general public to support by reaching Jantar Mantar.

“I request everyone to reach Delhi by morning. This is the time. If not now then when. It is a question of the honor of our daughters. Bajrang said, people like Brij Bhushan (WFI president) are roaming free despite being criminals and all this is happening with us.

Asked to give more details, Bajrang said, “CCTV cameras should be here. The footage will make it clear.

Asked specifically whether AAP leader Somnath Bharti had brought the folding bed, as claimed by Delhi Police, Bajrang said, “CCTV footage can show that he was not there when it happened. We brought the bed.” had ordered, we were bringing the beds in.” ,
