The 68th Nationwide Movie Awards have been introduced final Friday, and the Kannada movie Dollu secured two trophies. Now, the movie has run into controversy because it clinched an award for the ‘Greatest Location Sound Recordist’ (for sync sound movies solely).
Confusion arose when Oscar and BAFTA-winning sound mixer and designer Resul Pookutty mentioned that the movie was dubbed and isn’t a sync sound movie. Following this, the film’s sound designer Nithin Lukose alleged that the award jury had erred on this regard.
Now, the Nationwide Movie Award Jury has reacted to the controversy after they failed to tell apart between dubbing and sync sound. The jury mentioned that the movie producers misrepresented the data. Jury member VG Thampi mentioned that he didn’t realise that there was no sync sound when he noticed the movie.
Resul Pookutty tweeted barely just a few hours after the announcement of the 68th Nationwide Movie award:

Whereas, Nithin questioning the capabilities of award jury members, wrote, “I don’t know what occurred behind the curtains of the Nationwide Award choices and its procedures, However I pity the judgment of the jury who couldn’t differentiate between a dub and a sync sound movie, claims to be the specialists within the situation!”

Speaking about Malayalam cinema, the regional trade bagged a complete of 13 awards on the 68th Nationwide Movie Awards. Aside from this, Aparna Balamurali received the very best actress award, whereas, Shalini Usha took house the very best screenplay award.
Biju Menon and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Ayyappanum Koshiyum alone clinched 4 awards. Satchidananda Okay R (Sachi) received the very best director award for the film. Nanchiamma, a local of Attapadi, received the award for the very best playback singer for the folks tune Kalakatha Sandanamele. Biju Menon received the very best supporting actor award for his efficiency within the movie.
