The much-awaited 76th annual Cannes Film Festival for the year 2032 has begun, which is going on from May 16 to 27, 2032. Held at the famous Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France, the festival attracts film lovers from across the world. , Talking about Bollywood and India, several celebs made their red carpet debut with some old faces like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Earlier, Vivek Agnihotri criticized this year’s festival for its focus on fashion. Now film maker Nandita Das has also expressed her views.

On Sunday, Nandita Das penned a long note on her Instagram timeline with old pictures from the time when she attended the red carpet. The filmmaker in his caption emphasized how Cannes is about films and not fashion. His throwback album featured faces like Rasika Dugal, Salma Hayek, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Javier Bardemz Divya Dutta and others.

Her note read, “Sadly, Cannes is missing this year. Many times people forget that this festival is not of clothes but of films! Given that I can’t show you the amazing movies I saw or the conversations I had or take you back in time when Manto premiered. Here are some images from during the years at Cannes. And it is only in saris that there is a lot of talk about ‘celebrities wearing saris in Cannes’. Well this is definitely my outfit. Simple, elegant and Indian. Minimal fuss – easy to get in and out of!

He added, “There is an interesting story behind each picture but too long to share. So feel free to make up your own story from the pictures you see. And guess what year they are – 2005, 20013, 2016 -2018.”
