Dibakar Banerjee ‘Not in Touch’ With Love Sex Aur Dhokha Actor Rajkummar Rao: ‘They’re Scared to…’ | Exclusive – News18

Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 is slated for a theatrical release on April 19.

Dibakar Banerjee hints at how working with Rajkummar Rao may not be possible again. He also explains why big stars would have never done Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2.

14 years after Love Sex Aur Dhokha, a found footage film that proved to be a clutter-breaker for Bollywood, Dibakar Banerjee is back with its spiritual sequel. The first film marked the debut of Rajkummar Rao, who went on to establish himself as a force to be reckoned. And while he isn’t a part of Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, it was reported last week that the makers of the film will be hosting a special screening of the film for the cast of the first part and that it would also see Rajkummar and Nushrratt Bharuccha in attendance.

However, in an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Dibakar slams the report and even hints at how he hasn’t spoken to the actor since a while. “This is artificial intelligence and spontaneous combustible news. It creates itself. I don’t think he has watched the film yet. In fact, I haven’t been in touch with him because I was busy making Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2,” he tells us.

For the unversed, Dibakar never collaborated with Rajkummar after Love Sex Aur Dhokha. And he believes that working with him might not be possible again. Prod him further and he says, “There was a conversation between us to work together but that wasn’t for Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2. I’m still the essentially indie, marginal filmmaker. 14 years from now, I’ll still be the same if I’m making films. The actors, on the other hand, who work with me on their first or second film have gone on to climb bigger heights of commercial stardom. My films may be too small to contain them,” he states candidly.

Much like the first film, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 has a cast comprising of fresh faces like Paritosh Tiwari, Abhinav Singh and Bonita Rajpurohit. It also marks the launch of internet sensation Uorfi Javed. Talking about roping in new talents in this film too, Dibakar remarks, “Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 couldn’t have been possible with big stars. If you’re watching a 17-year-old gamer who is foul mouthed, saying words like m*******d and b*******d in every line, is a misogynist and photos of his gay sex are being paraded all around the internet, tell me one star who will do it.”

The Khosla Ka Ghosla director continues, “If you’re talking about a transgender janitor who’s working in the lowest of the low rung in a corporate company, goes out and prostitutes herself to make ends meet and the whole film is about five samples of sperms being found in her a**s, which Bollywood actor will do it?”

For Dibakar, his films are unable to afford A-listers and their mind-set doesn’t nudge them to be a part of them either. “Stars won’t do these roles because of money. Money is also the mind-set. The result is money but mind-set is the way of reaching that money. They’re also scared to work with me because the commercials of the film will be compromised,” he opines.
