Bollywood actress Dia Mirza shares her views on premarital sex and pregnancy. The actress recently called it a ‘personal choice’ in an interview and said that it can only be celebrated by those who understand that it is a personal choice of an individual.
Diya married businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in February last year and came into limelight due to her pregnancy announcement. At that time, Diya clarified that she had not decided to tie the knot due to her pre-wedding pregnancy.
Speaking with ETimes in a recent interview, Dia said, “I think when it comes to personal choice and the power of personal choice, it can only be celebrated by those who make sure that They make personal choices, not threats, aren’t afraid to make choices. What you need as an individual.”
“And while many people may have regressive views on premarital sex or premarital pregnancy or any number of other things for that matter, there are many who recognize the fact that it is a personal choice, that people We have the right to do so if they choose to. I don’t think we are as progressive as we imagine or think of ourselves as we are,” she said.
Diya and Vaibhav welcomed their son Avyan in May 2021. The couple’s child was born prematurely and he was in the hospital for a few months before being discharged. The couple recently celebrated their first birthday this summer.
On the work front, Dia Mirza also has filmmaker Anubhav Sinha’s upcoming film in the pipeline. The actress also recently shot for Taapsee Pannu’s film Dhak Dhak. The film also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanjana Sanghi in lead roles. The team recently shared a picture of Khardung La: World’s Highest Motorable Pass.
