Mumbai: Today (July 6) on the occasion of Ranveer Singh’s birthday, filmmaker Karan Johar announced his next directorial venture ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. This upcoming KJo drama will feature Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The makers revealed the title of the film with a short intro video earlier today.
Now, as per the latest update shared by the makers, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ will also feature legendary actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. Karan Johar shared another video where the voice-over of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt introduces these legendary stars to the audience and also gives a glimpse of their characters.
Sharing the video, Karan Johar tweeted, ‘Meet the legendary stars of Rocky and Rani’s love story. We are all thrilled to be working with these legendary stalwarts and I can’t wait to be on the sets with them! #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahani #RRKPK”.
In another tweet, he shared his feelings about casting this stellar ensemble cast in ‘Rocky and Rani ki love story’ and wrote, “This ensemble brings this story closer to my heart. Makes. Meet my all-time favorite actors and the extraordinary family of Rocky and Rani! Coming to your screens in 2022!”
Earlier today, announcing his next directorial, Karan Johar tweeted, “Thrilled to be behind the lens with your favorite people! Introducing Rocky and Rani’s love story, titled Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. And it is written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy.”
‘Rocky and Rani’s love story’ will hit the screens in 2022. Fans are excited after the on-screen pairing of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt created magic with their scintillating chemistry in ‘Gully Boy’.
